Kerry BarnettFire MarshalOffice: (813) 780-0078- The Fire Marshal is responsible in overseeing and assisting in all areas of fire prevention.
This includes:Providing commercial inspections on annual basis to approximately 900 businesses.Provides plan review and inspections on new constructionAttends pre-site and site plan review with other city department heads to discuss possibilities of interested parties wanting to start or relocate their business inside the City of Zephyrhills, along with review of future annexations.Provides commercial hood inspections (in addition to annual inspections) to restaurants, churches and community halls with cooking facilities.Works with city code enforcement on fire code violations.Tracks all false fire alarms and illegal burns inside department's response area.Provide documentation for invoicing of fire service user fees (plans, review, inspections, permits, and alarms).Assists in establishing City ordinances for fire safety and protection.Ensures all commercial occupancies that are considered a target hazard have accurate preplan data.Responsible for ensuring all target hazards with the possibility of large life loss have quarterly fire inspections.Responsible for origin & cause on fire investigations.
