Q: I would like to start a Neighborhood Crime Watch, what should I do?
A: Contact the Community Services at (813) 780-0050 or EMail: policedept@ci.zephyrhills.fl.us. A Crime Prevention Officer will meet with and assist you in starting a group in your neighborhood or business area.

Q: What can I do about speeding vehicles on my street?
A: Call the Police Department at (813) 780-0050 or submit a "Request for Action" explaining the situation. Your request will be assigned to an officer for traffic monitoring and increased visibility in your area.

Q: If I lock my keys in my vehicle who can I call?
A: The Police Department does provide officers with slim-jims for unlocking vehicles; however, a waiver must be signed prior to an officer unlocking the vehicle. Appropriate identification and proof of vehicle ownership is necessary. If the officer is not able to unlock the vehicle then a list of licensed locksmiths can be provided for further assistance.

Q: Who do I contact in reference to property the police department may have?
A: If you have reason to believe the Zephyrhills Police Department may have property belonging to you from a loss or theft, you can contact the Evidence/Property Section at (813) 780-0050, Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Q: Who do I contact for a traffic ticket?
A: If you receive a Uniform Traffic Citation, you must follow the directions on the back of the citation. You must pay the citation within 30 days or elect a court date to contest the citation. If you cannot pay the citation, then you must contact the Clerk of Circuit Court within the 30 days at Pasco County Traffic Violation Bureau 38053 Live Oak Avenue, Dade City, Florida 33523-3894 to make arrangements for payment.

Q: What if I receive a parking ticket from the Zephyrhills Police Department?
A: You need to enclose your payment in the self-addressed envelope and mail your payment to the address on the envelope.

Q: Does the police department provide fingerprinting services?
A: Yes, The Police Department does provide fingerprinting services. Fingerprinting is done from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesdays. There is a nominal fee of $5.00 and you must provide a fingerprint card. For additional information contact Community Services at 780-0050

Q: Where do I get an application for employment with the Zephyrhills Police Department?

A: If you are interested in employment with the Zephyrhills Police Department, an application may be downloaded from this web site, or by contacting City Human Resources Department at (813) 780-0000. Law enforcement officer applications are provided to Florida-Certified law enforcement officers or out-of-state police officers with at least one (1) year sworn experience. Law Enforcement Reserve I and Reserve II applicants must fill out the standard law enforcement officer application.
