The Purchasing Department is responsible for overseeing a decentralized purchasing system that reviews and processes purchase orders and reviews quotes to ensure they are in accordance with the City's purchasing policy or State and Federal guidelines.

In addition, the Purchasing Department coordinates and develops formal Invitations to Bid, Requests for Qualifications, Requests for Proposals, Requests for Information and Letters of Interest to ensure overall compliance with the City's purchasing ordinance.  All procurement of goods or services in which the estimate cost will equal or exceed twenty thousand dollars ($20,000) requires advertisement.  Advertisements will be made in the Tampa Bay Times, DemandStar or Public Purchase and on the City's website.  The documents and addedums can be downloaded from Public Purchase,  This access is FREE.

Effective January 2016 the Purchasing Department will be partnering with Public Surplus for the posting and auction of City surplus materials.  Individuals interested in participating in one of our listed auctions will need to register.  For more information on the registration and bidding process please select the below link or go onto their website,
