Notice of Finding of No Significant Impact and Record of Decision
Environmental Assessment for Runway 1/19 Extension and Related Improvements
Zephyrhills Municipal Airport
The Federal Aviation Administration, Orlando Airports District Office, has announced that a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) and Record of Decision (ROD) has been approved based on the results of an Environmental Assessment (EA) prepared for the proposed extension of Runway 1/19 at the Zephyrhills Municipal Airport. The project includes extending Runway 1/19 from its present length of 4,694 feet to 6,200 feet; extending parallel Taxiway B to the new runway end; land clearing and grading; modifications to the airport’s stormwater management system; land acquisition; installation of new runway and taxiway edge lights; relocation of existing runway threshold lights and visual approach aids; new sections of airfield security fencing; and publication of new and modified instrument approach procedures.
The FONSI/ROD indicates that the proposed action is consistent with existing environmental policies and objectives as set forth in the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 in that it will not significantly affect the quality of the human environment. Electronic copies of the FONSI and EA are available for review at the website listed below.
