Code Enforcement enforces land and property codes in an effort to eliminate conditions that threaten the life, health, safety, and general welfare of residents. The department investigates complaints about possible violations.
Below is a list of some of the most common code violations:
- High Grass/Weeds
- Dead Trees
- Junk & Debris
- Non-Registered/Dilapidated Vehicles
- Set Back Infraction (RV/Boats/Trailers)
- Building Construction (No Permit)
- Minimum Housing Issues (Roofs, Windows, etc.)

ANONYMOUS COMPLAINT NOTICE
Florida Statute Chapter 125.69 and 162.21 prohibits code compliance officers from initiating a code compliance action based on an anonymous complaint. Individuals wishing to submit a complaint are required to provide their name and address. An exception was provided permitting anonymous complaints only if a code officer has reason to believe the violation presents an imminent threat to public health, safety, or welfare or there is a threat of imminent destruction of habitat or sensitive resources.
